Aviation industry contributes 2% of human-produced CO2 emissions. Biocomposites in the aircraft industry can provide significant environmental benefits compared to conventional materials and composites.

The transport sector plays a critical role in the European economy and society in terms of employment, growth and mobility. Recotrans, Sparta, Jospel and Eliot are four European funded projects that address air/ground transport sector manufacturing with a focus on market factors like time-to-market, cost and energy consumption and advanced recycling solutions to reduce the environmental impact and the carbon footprint.

A streamlined, safe, sustainable and connected transport system is vital for Europe and its ambition to achieve concrete decarbonisation and the green transition through tehnological innovations.

ELIOT aims to provide new innovative and green technologies for EoL of commonly used natural fibres and biobased resins with increased resource efficiency and fully align these biomaterials with the circular economy principles.
